Women’s wellness and living in tune with your cycle ft Ahlya

In a time where we are constantly expected to perform, achieve and keep moving, wellness has become something deeper than a routine. It is a return to self. It is the quiet act of listening, of slowing down enough to notice what our bodies are trying to tell us. For many women, this journey begins with understanding the natural rhythms that shape our energy, our mood and our sense of balance.

At the Heart of It All has always been about exploring what it means to live with intention, to choose wholeness over haste. Wellness is not about perfection or control, but about presence. It is about learning to live in tune with ourselves and honouring the seasons that exist within us.

This is what drew me to Ahlya, a brand created for women who want to deepen their relationship with their bodies. Through their work, they are redefining how we approach cycle wellness, combining knowledge, technology and compassion to help women feel more connected, supported and seen.

I spoke with the founder of Ahlya , Lynda to learn more about their mission, the inspiration behind their work, and how they hope to shift the way women experience and understand their wellbeing. Below is our conversation, five questions that go to the heart of what it truly means to care for ourselves as women.

1. What  inspired you to create Ahlya and focus on wellness during a woman’s cycle?

Lynda: My journey with Ahlya really began in 2020, when I was diagnosed with PCOS. Like many women, I left the doctor’s surgery with more questions than answers, and with yet another prescription for pills that made me feel even less like myself, both physically and mentally. PCOS compounded my PMS, and for years I dreaded two weeks of every month, battling mood swings, exhaustion, and pain that left me disconnected from myself. It was only when I started to track my cycle more closely and experiment with lifestyle changes, from nutrition and movement to journaling and mindset practices, that things began to shift. I realised that when I worked with my hormones instead of against them, I felt better in both body and mind. That discovery sparked the idea for Ahlya, a platform designed to give women the tools and insights I so desperately needed back then.

2. How would you define wellness?

Lynda: To me, wellness isn’t about perfection or appearances, it’s about harmony and balance. It’s not about following rigid rules, but about tuning into your body, understanding what it needs, and giving it the right support. For women, a vital part of wellness is recognising that our hormones shift every month, and those shifts influence everything from mood and energy to sleep and focus. True wellness, in my view, can only be achieved when we stop fighting those rhythms and instead learn to align with them.

3. In what ways does Ahyla help women connect more deeply with themselves?

Lynda: Ahlya is more than a period tracker, it’s a guide to understanding how your hormones shape daily life. With daily insights across six wellbeing pillars (mind, body, beauty, intimacy, life, and nutrition), plus guided meditations and a gratitude journal, Ahlya encourages women to pause, check in, and make choices that align with where they are in their cycle. That simple shift in awareness from “something’s wrong with me” to “this is why I feel this way” transforms the relationship women have with their bodies, replacing frustration with connection and self-trust.

4. Ahyla has a partner sharing feature, what difference can it make when partners or loved ones understand and support a women’s cycle journey?

Lynda: Cycles don’t just affect the person experiencing them, they ripple into relationships too. When partners or loved ones understand what phase someone is in, they can respond with empathy instead of frustration. It creates space for better communication as it will help a partner or loved one to understand when support, patience, or encouragement is needed most. The feature is designed to remove the mystery and help women feel seen and validated, rather than having to explain themselves over and over again.

5. What sets Ahyla apart as an essential for women navigating their cycle journey?

Lynda: Most apps reduce the menstrual cycle to ovulation and fertility. Ahlya recognises that hormones shape so much more, from mood, stress, and motivation to physical energy, skin, and sleep. That’s why Ahlya combines intuitive period tracking with daily guidance that supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Alongside these daily insights, Ahlya integrates tools like guided meditations, mindset-shifting “Elevations,” and a gratitude journal, helping women build resilience, ease stress, and feel more in control of their daily lives.

Ahlya isn’t just about tracking dates, it’s about empowering women to thrive every day, through every phase.
